The introduction should include a brief but particular sentence that outlines the topic that you’ll be speaking about and/or any guest speakers who will be appearing at your event. The title of your Space will be set by default to “‘s Space,” and it cannot be modified at this time.

How to add speakers to Twitter Spaces

You can invite up to ten persons (in addition to the Host) to be speakers in a Space. Remember that if you block someone within a Twitter Space, you will also be blocking them on the rest of the Twitter network.

How to end a Twitter Space

Hosts can terminate a Space by hitting theLeave button in the upper right corner (this will end the Space for everyone). Alternatively, if a Space is found to be in violation of any Twitter Rules, it will be terminated. Users will no longer be able to access a Space after it has come to an end. Twitter will retain a record of the audio and subtitles for 30 days in the event that it needs to evaluate the conversation for any rule infractions.

Within 30 days (which can be extended to 90 days if an appeal is made), hosts will be able to obtain a copy of the Space’s data, which may include a transcript if closed captioning was enabled.

How to join a Space on Twitter

Anyone (even users of iOS and Android devices) can participate in a Twitter Space as a listener. At the moment, there are two methods to become a member of a Twitter Space:

  • The purple circle surrounding a host’s photo at the top of your timeline (the same as seeing Fleets)
  • Or the purple Spaces box within a tweet (the same as viewing Fleets). It is important to note that the Space must be active

  • Modify your preferences (for example, by turning on subtitles and sound effects)
  • To become a speaker, visit the Speakers and Listeners page, give emoji comments, post tweets, and share the Space

If you want to continue using Twitter while listening to Space, simply minimize the app and it will dock at the bottom of your app’s window. Even if you close the Twitter application, the audio will continue to play.

How to find Spaces on Twitter

Spaces is currently in the early stages of developing discoverability. Per screenshots discovered by @wongmjane, Twitter is working on creating an entirely new space within the app where you’ll be able to search for and discover new Spaces. For the time being, you may search for Spaces by typing “twitter.com/i/ispaces” into the mobile app’s search box. Spaces can be shared in one of three ways by hosts and listeners:
