T | Track performance
Keep track of the number of times your Twitter postings are clicked, particularly if they contain visual or textual material, to determine your social success. It will help you assess if you are doing the correct thing and whether or not your followers are interested in the posts/topics you are sharing if you track clicks. Bit.ly and Google’s link shortener, goo.gl, are two of the tools I frequently utilize. The outcome of a link I am following with the help of Google’s link shortener. U | Use bookmarks
Tweets may be saved by using bookmarks. It is possible for the Twitter newsfeed to move so quickly that you can see a tweet one instant and then it is no longer visible. Make a note of it so you can come back to it later.
V | Vary tweet posts
Take a break from Twitter. Breathe. Re-energize. Genuine people and real life are on display. Don’t fall prey to the fear of missing out (FOMO) (fear of missing out). When you return, Twitter will still still be there for you.
X | X-out shady activities
Any plans to purchase Twitter followers should be ruled out. A large number of them are forgeries. If you want to generate leads and interact with your audience, this is contradictory.
Y | Yield to your timer
Twitter has the potential to consume your time if you allow it to. Make time for the things that you need to accomplish to run your business. After that, turn it off.
Z | Zero in on best strategies
Concentrate on marketing techniques that will assist you in achieving your marketing objectives. When you engage someone, it is one thing; but, when you want them to do something else, it is quite another. For example, they may download an eBook, provide their email address, visit a landing page, subscribe, or make a purchase from you. It’s your time now! Discover well funded fast growing Startups flying under the radar!
In May 2021, we didn’t have Prelo since I was still reeling from the loss of my prior startup, where we had tried everything, nursed it for two years while adding features in the hope that it would sell itself. After it was turned off at the end of May, I was already on my way to a new shiny adventure by the beginning of June. I’d started working on Prelo with the same group of people. In July, a buddy advised that I start using Twitter, and I did so immediately. As a result, I registered. Prior to that, I’d spent the most of my time on LinkedIn, where I’d gained some nice traction and made some lifelong friends, but it wasn’t the hangout for our ideal customer.so I left, and now I’m on Twitter!
One word of caution: I’m missing my morning cup of coffee today, which means I’m having some difficulties.
We are patiently awaiting the arrival of Saturday /warning But first, before we get into this month’s blog, I’d want to get to know you better!

4 Growth Tips for founders on Twitter
When I originally joined Twitter some years ago, I immediately became dissatisfied and took a seven-year break. I then re-joined in April 2021, and this time I wanted to be genuine in the way I interacted. I’m hoping it’s been effective. My primary goal is to establish genuine relationships, and in order to do so, I needed followers who were interested in what I was saying. Due to the fact that my Startup isn’t well-known, I’m keen about making genuine connections with actual individuals who could one day utilize Prelo in the future.
1️⃣ Define your audience
Please respond to this question before you “blow up” the Twitterverse with a slew of unstructured tweets at random. I can only speak from my own personal experience when I say that I’m interested in tweeting to founders, particularly early-stage entrepreneurs. Founders lilke me. They can be divided into several categories: entrepreneurs with a product searching for finance (like me) entrepreneurs with an idea seeking co-founders (like me once again) entrepreneurs with an idea looking for a development community (like me once again) Entrepreneurs with an idea looking for a dev community founders who are currently bootstrapping their businesses (me today) Just so you’re reminded, I’m tweeting to people in the “early stage” of their careers.
I merely share my experiences to assist other startups like myself grow better.
If you’re a developer or in marketing and want to become a founder, I’m hoping that my tweets are beneficial or at least you find my site to be a place to learn and respect what founders are going through.
As an investor, you may wish to follow me if the information I share is relevant to your interests. You can also consider passing along my contact information to entrepreneurs in your network who might be interested in working with me.
2️⃣ Find your twitter tribe
In the end, what I was searching for when I returned to Twitter was a network of founders that had similar shared experiences as I had. Those who know me well understand that my entire existence is based on “assisting” others; it is what I enjoy doing and what provides me with genuine gratification. As a result, I sought out others who shared my interests. What did I do? I started tweeting, as you might expect. I began to share my thoughts on topics about which I had firsthand “lived” experiences.
- “Be distinct, be yourself”.
- 3 Methods for Identifying Your Tribe Look for issues that interest you, and those you feel comfortable expressing an opinion on (for me, this included startups, bootstrapping, and early-stage problems).
- The rest is straightforward; simply follow their instructions.
- Find out whether they are a member of any groups and then follow those groups.
- Attend one of their online meetings.
3️⃣ Always tweet for engagement, never for followers
While I’m not engaging in order to get 1000s of disinterested followers, it’s possible that my technique is flawed. I’d rather have 200 engaged followers than 3000 disengaged followers any day of the week. This is the scenario that I always utilize. Have you ever gone to a party when the DJ begins to play a set and everyone immediately leaves the dance floor? To put it another way, you are the DJ, and the music is comprised of your tweets, in my opinion. Consequently, if you don’t want to waste your time playing music to an empty dance floor, you need be certain that the individuals you’ve invited to your party enjoy the music you’ve chosen.
Simply “liking” someone else’s tweet is OK, but if you have a question, this is an excellent method to communicate with that person.
I have a little more than 350 wonderful people that are following my account.
They’ve actively engaged with me, ideally as a result of what I write about.
4️⃣ Things you should avoid at all cost
Politics and religion are two things that I seldom discuss on social media as a founder in the early stages of their business. Perhaps this is not the best technique, but it is the one that works for me at the moment. I have a slew of other topics to discuss, and to be honest, I don’t know enough about either to be of use at this stage in the conversation. Avoid retweeting if you have less than 1000 followers. I have less than 1000 followers, and although it is OK to retweet the occasional tweet, I have found that like a tweet and providing an useful remark is of greater value than retweeting it.
- Keeping in mind that your personal brand is inextricably related to your company, I personally know the firm’s founders, Kilian and Dago, who are accomplishing remarkable things in their respective fields.
- Although I understand that we should be focused on growing our company rather than on social media, this is the environment we live in now.
- The majority of my audience happens to be online between 3pm and 6pmGMT|
- 7am and 10pmPST|
- 10am and 1pmPST So that when I tweet, I am really reaching out to people at a time when I am most likely to gain the greatest engagement, I do this to guarantee that my tweets are effective.
- After being away for 6 hours, you return to find a flurry of inquiries that you haven’t been able to address.
- If you have fewer than 250 followers, refrain from asking inquiries.
People occasionally respond to my queries, even though I only have 350 followers.
Avoid bringing up your startup in a standalone tweet At this moment, no one is interested in your new venture.
It is simply the way things are at this point.
Until then, give, give, and more give.

The Ultimate Guide to Using Twitter for Business in 2021
Twitter is an indisputably effective medium for expanding the reach of your company’s online presence. The average Twitter user follows five different businesses, and 80 percent of all Twitter users have addressed a specific brand in a single Tweet. If you’re wearing your Inbound Marketing hat, you should be aware that Twitter is not just a place to increase customer growth through word-of-mouth marketing, but it’s also a place to meet your consumers where they are: on social media. However, in order to be successful as a company on Twitter these days, you must be able to stand out from the crowd.
How can you contribute to your audience’s online experience, rather than merely being a disturbance, by doing the following steps?
How do you make your brand more human on a platform that was built for connecting with other people?
Continue reading to find out how you can utilize Twitter to promote your company this year.
How to Market Effectively on Twitter
First and foremost, you must develop a Twitter marketing plan. Your strategy is the building block of your success, and it is well worth the work you put into studying and developing it. A Twitter marketing strategy is similar to any other social media strategy in that it is based on the content that you develop, post, and distribute in order to interact with your followers on the social media platform. In order to build your brand awareness, the material you produce should be engaging and attract new followers as well as promote new leads.
If you want to produce leads and sales for your company over the long run, you’ll need brand awareness on your side to get the flywheel turning in your favor.
1. Research your competition.
Using Twitter, you may find rivals and learn about the sorts of marketing material and methods that they are doing. Obtaining knowledge on what your rivals are doing can assist you in developing your own strategy in the future.
Is there anything they’re doing that you should be paying attention to as well? What does their customer support look like when you use their online platform? By asking questions about your competition, you may launch your own highly-developed plan that you have worked hard to establish.
2. Audit your account.
When it comes to strategy, it is important to remember the necessity of auditing. Twitter may be a powerful marketing tool if used properly. However, being organized is essential. Do you need to audit your account as soon as possible? Here’s how to complete it in less than 20 minutes.
3. Research best practices.
This is a phase that, like auditing, must be performed on an ongoing basis. Maintaining awareness of best practices when Twitter is updated and undergoes changes is essential to maintaining high levels of impressions and engagement.
4. Identify your audience.
It is important to consider your business personas in all part of your marketing, including social media marketing. Even while developing specific pieces of content, you should have a description of your personas in mind as you plan your approach and develop it further. Who is it that you are attempting to reach? What exactly piques their interest? Will this be enough to attract their attention?
How to Use Twitter for Business
Having covered techniques for developing a Twitter marketing plan, let’s take a look at some essential measures you must do in order to maximize Twitter’s potential for your own firm.
1. Build a profile that stands out.
First and foremost, you need to position yourself for success by personalizing your profile on the site. One of the last things you want is for someone to stop following your Twitter account – and thus stop following your business – because your profile image is a Twitter egg. Make sure to post eye-catching photographs for both your banner and profile picture to make them stand out. While many businesses use their logo as their profile image, the Banner is a place where you may be a bit more creative with your colors and graphics.
- Although it may seem easy to use your company’s name as your Twitter handle, there are a large number of Twitter accounts.
- You can include a call-to-action (CTA) at the beginning of your company name if your brand name is currently being used as a handle by someone else.
- Perhaps “@GetHubSpot” or “@ChooseHubSpot” would be more appropriate hashtags to use.
- If you have a sale event coming up, or a new marketing campaign recently begun, your pinned tweet might be about that as well.
It’s also critical that you fine-tune your description, website link, and geographical region. Your Twitter profile should have all of these elements in order for your followers to learn more about your company, and they should be updated and checked on a regular basis.
2. Add value with your content.
A similar process exists for adding value to your Twitter material as it does for adding value to other marketing content. Your buyer personas should be in the forefront of your mind at all times, because the secret to creating good inbound content is to make your readers feel as if you’re speaking directly to them yourself. When considering how you may contribute value on social media, consider whether your tweets advance a concept, entertain, or educate the audience, respectively. If you don’t have any of those three elements, your material is going to be a disappointment.
- A piece of material that does not spark dialogue is not worth putting out there.
- Multimedia tweets help distinguish your company from competitors, and tweets with photos receive 150 percent more retweets, so start including images and movies into your material.
- Nobody wants to see the same “text, CTA, link” tweet with an image preview on their feed on a consistent basis throughout the day.
- Other methods of increasing the worth of your Twitter account are available that are particular to Twitter.
- In addition to interacting with your audience, Twitter chats are an excellent opportunity to ask them questions about your company or sector.
3. Optimize your content.
You want to make certain that your material is seen by as many people as possible now that you’ve added value to it. On Twitter, there are a number of various tactics you may use to maximize your content. When it comes to spreading your material, hashtags are a simple and widespread method, but you should be cautious about how many you employ. Using too many hashtags may give the impression that your company is trying to spam people, or that you are attempting to take their attention. To put it another way, refrain from overusing hashtags.
If you want to increase the number of people who see your work, you should also conduct hashtag research.
Finally, you’ll want to think about how frequently you tweet.
However, it’s vital to remember that your audience isn’t likely to be on Twitter only to hear from your company, so avoid flooding their feeds with irrelevant stuff.
Experimenting with the timing of your Tweets is also a terrific way to reach a greater number of people. Many firms choose to tweet in the morning, during lunch break, and in the early evening because that is when their target audience is most likely to be online at that time.
4. Engage with your audience.
The importance of engaging with your audience on Twitter cannot be overstated. This may be done by tagging them in tweets, reacting to their comments, or even arranging exciting giveaways to get your audience engaged. Read The Ultimate Guide to Community Management if you want to learn more about how to develop a community or how to integrate community management strategies throughout your organization.
5. Monitor your brand.
Create the sort of material that your followers genuinely want to see, come up with fresh ideas based on industry trends, enhance your customer experience by communicating directly with consumers, and adjust your approach to meet the demands of your audience by using social listening.
6. Measure results.
It is simple to monitor the effects of your success on any social networking site after you have established objectives and goals for your endeavors. Having goals may also assist you in determining when your plan isn’t working and can assist you in getting to the proper location. Twitter analytics, which can be found in the drop-down menu when you click on your profile in the upper right corner of your Twitter dashboard, will allow you to track your progress on the social media platform and make adjustments as needed.
A good rule of thumb for evaluating your effectiveness on Twitter is to pay less attention to purely vanity indicators.
Out of your total audience number, it is more important to know how many people clicked on the link you Tweeted, or how many people are interacting and engaging with you.
7. Use a Twitter tool.
When you’re using Twitter for business, signing into the network every time you make a tweet may become tedious and, frankly, is a waste of your time. In order to avoid having to click “Tweet” 30 times every week on social media, there are a variety of tools available that allow you to schedule your postings ahead of time. HubSpot’s Social Media tool enables you to post to social networks from the same area where you design campaigns, as well as schedule material for subsequent publication on social networks.
8. Venture into paid.
There are two options for getting started with sponsored media on Twitter: Promoted tweets will display in a user’s feed or search results if they have been selected for inclusion. If a user who is not currently following your account sees the tweet, your company pays for it to be displayed to them. A sponsored tweet appears and behaves just like a regular tweet, which means it may be retweeted, liked, and quoted in the same manner as a regular tweet. Twitter will place your promoted tweets in a daily campaign that targets the sort of audience you want to reach, based on the criteria you previously selected.
Twitter advertisements are a wonderful choice if you want to promote a variety of different sorts of tweets in order to achieve a certain objective or develop a campaign. You should be aware of the following when it comes to Twitter advertisements and campaigns:
Why You Should Stay on Twitter
Perhaps your company has been using Twitter for a while and you’re becoming irritated or uninspired with the results. Having said that, it takes time to develop a devoted and involved Twitter audience, and it’s discouraging to see information posted and receive little or no reaction. However, abandoning the platform means that your company will lose a significant source of brand exposure, as well as making it more difficult for customers to locate you. Here are a few reasons why you should continue to use Twitter, even if you are currently dissatisfied with the service.
1. Your competition is on there.
On Twitter, there’s a good chance that your competitors are pursuing goals that are similar, if not identical, to yours. Although it may feel like you’re yelling into the abyss at times, it is critical to provide high-quality content that potential consumers can access. Monitoring your rivals’ Twitter accounts may also provide you with valuable information about their social media strategy. Looking at what’s working – and what’s not – for your rivals may be a wonderful starting point for developing your own social media marketing campaign on Twitter.
2. It’s a great source for free marketing.
When it comes to free promotion, who can say no? Twitter is an excellent platform for interacting with consumers and initiating a cycle of word-of-mouth marketing. If your customers are tweeting about you, it’s important to answer as soon as possible – especially if they’re having a bad experience with you.
3. You can use Twitter to increase sales.
If you’re the sort that says no to free promotion, perhaps the promise of greater sales can persuade you to stick around a little longer. In addition to being an excellent tool for getting your brand out into the world, Twitter is also a location where buyers may find you. After following a company on Twitter, 60 percent of its followers are more inclined to make a buy or promote a product.
